Ban the god who bans you...

Open Letter to all the women living in India

Dear Indian Women,

We, the so called "MALES", from Indian Society, have taken an oath to not let go any opportunity to embarrass you. We drive the society and so we have also given ourselves the right to drive your life according to our wish and will, of course without your consent. It is us who will talk about gender equality and not you. We will decide your level of equality with us and not you. However, please make it clear at first, that we are ultimately superior to you. Men will be men.

We respect you as our Mother, Sister, Wife and sometimes as a friend too. You don't need any special treatment for being a woman, Whatever we do for you is more than enough. It is us because of whom you feel your existence. So don't try to overshadow us by acting over smart.

Earlier we thought rapes, molestation, eve teasing and speaking dirty stuff about you would be enough to suppress you and make you feel timid. But we were wrong. So now, we have decided to not let you enter into temples. Not even in the temple of goddesses too.

We respect our judiciary. But, this time the ruling doesn't go down well. We won't allow you to enter into temples at any cost. Debate about your security, talk about your rights or do anything under the pretext of feminism, we won't give a damn. But, dare you try to step into our temples.

We don't want to destroy the auspiciousness of our god because of you all. Let the tradition stay intact. God is present everywhere, so stay out and pray out, no need to get inside a temple. And if you think banning our god is a solution, then let me tell you, our god doesn't need such thankless creatures. Before you ban our god, we ban you...

If you think you will get away with this, we will be ready to serve you with more...

Yours Truly,
A Male Hypocrite

This open letter might not go down well with many of us, but this is the situation in Maharashtra. Feeling ashamed and agitated over the issue. Its very depressing to see trustees of famous and most worshiped pilgrimage and temples finding loop holes and coming up with hell new tantrums to avoid giving entry to female devotees in temple. Government acting ignorant and failing to implement law and order is the worst scenario. This post, to support women. Fight Bravo!!!

Being Common...(At Home)

When you are alone at your place, sitting somewhere near to the window gazing outside, waiting for the nature to inspire you and suddenly you are thought stricken and you run in search for paper and a pen, but you hardly find it. By the time you find your pen and paper, you rush to the table and place the nib of your pen on the paper, the thought is vanished. Again your mind is like an empty pot. You are frustrated by the time. So, to entertain yourself you switch on the TV. You are surfing the channels to find something interesting, suddenly your favorite celebrity catches your eye and you stop your finger from pressing the channel changing button. Hard luck... he is on the News Channel and accidentally you read the news headline of RAPE somewhere scrolling down at the bottom of your screen.
By reading the headline you feel agitated and restless. You start thinking about the incident and try to put yourself in the situation to make yourself realize and feel the pain, from which the brave heart girl has gone through. Believe me, its not even the 1% of which she has gone through. Still, you can feel the raging fire within. You switch off the TV, think for seconds and while doing so, you plan the murder of rapist. You even think of executing your plan, in excitement you even get up from your place and by the time you act... you realize you are just an another common man in 100 crore population of India.
Meanwhile, you just start reading the newspaper to calm down yourself. Actually, you don't read it, you just start watching the pictures. But again, you read the same type of news in the paper. Frustrated, you start web surfing and on one of the social networking sites, you read someone's status regarding a party leader ordering his party men to rape, if people don't support their party. This is high time now, and you finally feel like either killing the person who said this or committing suicide.
Suddenly your phone beeps and you read the message from customer care regarding activation of caller tune when actually you have not done it. Forgetting whatever happened till now, you call customer care services and start fighting for your phone balance and asking them the refund.
This is how a common being spends his busy day....
#BEING COMMON...
#Its all about you can't...

Slice Of Life... Part-3

"My ambition in life is to become a Rickshaw driver", said Priya.
"Are you kidding me?", asked Shruti.
"No, his essay seriously read that", Priya answered.

Priya and Shruti were having a conversation over a coffee table, after Priya was done with her teaching job. Priya was a teacher in BMC school, where a lot of students used to come from a poor background. As a part of the syllabus, Priya made her students studying in second grade, write an essay about their goals and ambitions in life. Ravi, one of her students, wrote his ambition to be a rickshaw driver. Shocked by reading his essay, Priya decided to have a word with him over this. She called Ravi in teacher's room.
"Ravi, did you write this essay on your own or somebody else helped you??", asked Priya.
"Yes Madam, I only wrote it", Ravi replied innocently.
Priya was totally confused.
"What your father's profession?", inquired Priya.
"He is a Rickshaw driver", replied Ravi with a pride.
Priya thought for a while and smiled with herself and asked Ravi to leave. He left.

(Back to the coffee table)
"HE IS A RICKSHAW DRIVER explains it all", said Priya, trying to explain Shruti, in short. But Shruti couldn't get it. She asked for explanation.
Priya went on," See, Ravi is a small kid studying in grade two. At this point of time, he don't see the world as we do. He is very innocent. He has not seen the world yet and for him, his father is his role model. Everyday he watches his father driving rickshaw and like every other child, he too wish to be like him."
"Don't you think it was your duty to correct him?", asked Shruti.
"What??" Priya asked in amaze. Shruti repeated her question.
"Correct him for what Shruti?? Correct him for the mistake he didn't do?? Shruti, tell me, is speaking your heart out in an essay is wrong?", asked Priya.
"No", replied Shruti.
"That's what I am saying Shruti. That small boy poured his heart in that essay. Actually he didn't want to become a rickshaw driver,he wished to act like his dad. His dad is his hero. Isn't it so sweet & cute?" Priya questioned. "This is the reason you are a good teacher, you explain so well", said Shruti, taking a sip from her cup.
"Shruti, we only teach them to speak truth, so why scold them if they speak it. And as Ravi will grow up, he will be strong enough to take his decisions and decide his ambitions. Am I correct??", asked Priya.
"Yes, even I once wrote my ambition to be a princess", she smiled.
"Oh my god, lets leave we are already late for show...", said Priya as the wall clock behind Shruti came to her sight. Shruti and Priya finished off their coffee and went for the movie show they already planned, paying the bill & leaving few bucks as a tip to the waiter.
Everyday, every coffee table witnesses such conversations and debates. Some are sweet, while some are bitter. Everyone have their role models in life. Ravi's hero was his father. No profession is big or small. Every other profession adapted to support one's family is respectable. But, why aim low... was Shruti's question. Priya recognized the innocence in Ravi. Time is the game changer in every situation...Time changes caterpillar into butterfly... Don't make life complicated by thinking too much... Just...

Slice Of Life... Part-2

When Raghu started walking away from Chandu Bhai, he called him from behind. Raghu turned back. "Come here", Chandu Bhai asked him to come near him. He returned back to him. Chandu Bhai asked him his name. "Raghu", he said. "What happened??", asked Raghu. Chandu Bhai smiled and said,"Nothing, I have never met a guy like you..". "Like me??", Raghu asked in amaze. "So brave, so sensible and emotionally neutral yet so adorable", said Chandu Bhai. Raghu smiled in silence. "Why did you save my life?", asked Chandu Bhai. "Just because I was not at all willing to see a murder in front of my eyes", replied Raghu. He walked a step closer to Chandu Bhai, dropped his sack and sat down.
"Why do you kill people?", Raghu asked.
"Huh...", Chandu Bhai responded as if he didn't hear the question.
Raghu repeated the question.
Chandu Bhai kept staring at Raghu. There was a pin drop silence. When Raghu tried to look into Chandu Bhai's eyes, he avoided eye contact.
"You can never justify your actions...", said Raghu.
Chandu Bhai went speechless over a 15 year old boy's comment. Raghu took his sack & walked away, but this time Chandu Bhai couldn't stop him.
Next day morning, the newspapers read the headline, "GANGSTER CHANDU BHAI KILLED IN A GANG WAR". Raghu was back to his routine life unknown from the fact. Everyone read the news and again got busy with there own life. In short, no one gives a damn.
Still... Our every action is answerable. Life will surely raise the question. Chandu bhai failed to answer, he lost life. See to it our actions are justified by us. Otherwise life will become meaningless and meaningless life is not worth living. Make a point to live. Spread smile. Make life beautiful...

Slice Of Life... Part-1

Raghu a 15 year old rag picker, walking on the lonely streets of Mumbai with his sack, entered a dumping ground. It was already 10 at night. While exploring the debris of garbage for finding his livelihood, he came across a man. He was lying aside on one of the huge heaps of garbage. In fact he was trying to hide and cover himself. While hiding he was looking out for someone. Hearing the footsteps he turned back. It was Raghu.  The man and Raghu kept staring at each other. After some time, the man asked in arrogance," What happened??". "Nothing", replied Raghu.
"Then why the hell are you staring at me??", said the man.
Raghu was still staring at him.
The man again asked him," Are you numb? Go get back to your work leave me alone."
Raghu did not move even an inch.
The man was fed up with him now. He asked," Aren't you afraid of me?"
Raghu replied," Afraid of what? Should I fear you because you are drunk and can harm me or just because you are Chandu Bhai?"
Yes, he was Chandu Bhai. Chandu Bhai, the most wanted underworld criminal, who was high and lying in the debris of garbage, hiding like a mouse yet was acting like a tiger in front of a 15 year old boy. Hearing Raghu's question, suddenly Chandu Bhai gained his senses and tried to get up and sit erect. He was shocked to see Raghu's reaction. Raghu was fearless.
Chandu Bhai tried again," Don't act too smart".
Raghu answered," Not at all, but you can't harm me and in fact why would you do so?"
Chandu Bhai was amazed with Raghu's behaviour. Raghu continued," I am a rag picker, I hardly earn few bucks, what will you get by killing me? I mean I have nothing to loose, then why would I fear you?"
Suddenly someone standing far in the debris asked Raghu, "Have you seen anyone here, with gun?".
He was a huge man wearing kilos of gold and was searching Chandu Bhai. Raghu smelled a rat. Without even thinking for a second, he lifted his hand and pointed in some random direction. The man continued his search in that direction. He left.
Chandu Bhai was electrified with the fact, that, today a 15 year old boy saved his life. "You are doing it for money, right??", saying this Chandu Bhai started removing one of his gold chains. "No no, not at all", said Raghu.
"What you think, by saving me you will prove yourself to me??", asked Chandu Bhai in anger.
"Why would I prove myself to you?", answered Raghu. Chandu Bhai was astonished with Raghu's behaviour. Raghu started walking, without even giving a damn.....

Not my body, love my soul....

A poem by a heartbroken lover who got separated from his love by death...

You know,
That day I didn't meet you,
was the only mistake for which
I am still paying....

You know,
Few days back you were sick,
you had high fever n for you
I was still praying....

For weeks we stayed apart,
I was busy, you was ill
n with us,
Life was still playing....

You became alright,
you were fine again,
meet me
you were still saying....

But that day...

Your health deteriorated,
you rested on bed again
and for life,
you were still craving....

You know,
you said am alright,
having blind faith
I was still believing....

One day you didn't answer my call,
I know you had a sudden fall,
All is well
you were still waving....

Very soon you moved on, forever.
Leaving me numb,
you slept silently
I was still crying....

You know,
That day I didn't meet you,
was the only mistake for which
I am still paying....

Love is immortal.... Not my body, love my soul....

The Conversation.....

 "Will you meet me today???"
"Where??"
"Near Hajji Ali..."
"Why There??"
"You coming or not??"
Naren was narrating me the whole conversation today he had with his girlfriend. Sorry, his ex-girlfriend, with whom he recently broke up. While listening to him i just glanced at my watch and it was already 1 am.
"Can you imagine Kaustubh, we met in a DARGAH...", standing in a balcony, holding a glass of whisky, taking in puff from his cigarette, he asked me.
"WHAT???", I asked him in amaze. I mean, both Naren and his girlfriend are hindu, then why they met in a dargah?
"Naren, will you please explain me the whole scenario?? Or just leave it buddy you are high...", I said.
"No no no, I am still in my senses and I know what I am speaking, OK I'll tell you the story...", he smiled and said.
Now I was only the silent listener and Naren started narrating the whole story with all his emotions poured in it..... He just went on without even waiting for my response...

"Today was her Birthday, and I did not even wish her... thinking, how would she feel or whether it would just ruin her party mood??? I was not at all interested in becoming the reason for her mood swing. But still when I left home in the morning for work, I was feeling very uneasy and incomplete. I always hate the paradox shown by my heart. I was avoiding her still thinking about her all the time. All the way I was driving to my office, I was listening to radio to rub off her thoughts from my mind. But I ended up listening to only romantic songs of various decades and again opening up the memorabilia".
While he was saying this there was a constant glow on his face. He was so engrossed in her sweet memories that he even forgot that, the day has already ended up and her birthday was yesterday. But I did not correct him, I just kept listening to him...
"I reached my office, even finished the meeting, had lunch but still she was on my mind. I thought of taking a break and moved out on busy streets of Mumbai. I took a cigarette, put it on my lips and god knows why I took it and threw it away. This was a signal to me from my brain that it was a high time now and I must wish her.... I took out my phone and to my surprise.... You know what??".
"No I did not... " I smiled and said.
"It was a call from her.. Within no time I answered the call and before anything Hi, Hello, I just shouted in an excitement, HAPPY BIRTHDAY... she welcomed it so warmly... like she used to do it before. And then she said OK listen."
"Will you meet me today???", she asked.
"Where??", I asked with an intention of saying yes.
"Near Hajji Ali...", she said.
"Why There??", I asked.
"You coming or not??", she asked in her sweet irritated tone.
After this there was no chance for me left to say no. I did not even walked back to my office to take my car. Straight away I hired a taxi to Hajji Ali Dargah. But wait, I forgot to say you something."
"What??", I asked.
He again started and this time I was also at the peak of my excitement and not at all interested in breaking his link.

"When I left my office post lunch, I straight away went to a watch showroom and bought a watch for her. I still don't have any explanation for this kind of weird behavior of mine. While I was on the way in a taxi, all the time I was thinking was.... Is this is what people refer to as "TELEPATHY"?? Whatever!!! I was very happy and excited too. I reached the meeting point. I waited there for around Five minutes and took out my phone to call her and turned back and.............There she was....", he took a sip from his glass.

"You know Kaustubh, today I did not smoke a single puff. After watching her I was feeling proud of my decision. I feel she is the most intoxicated drug for me, because the kick i got after meeting her was much more powerful than i usually get after i smoke. She was looking very beautiful in that white top. For few seconds we just lost in each other's eyes. When I regained my senses, I took her hand in my hand and tied the watch around her wrist, which i bought to gift her and wished her Birthday. She smiled so elegantly and thanked me for the gift.
I asked her, "Why this place??"
"Friends", she said and pointed towards her friends.
I got her signal, but was least interested in place, time or anything else as I was happy to be with her.
As we started walking towards the Dargah, we exchanged few words regarding our relationship status and all. Of course it was not at all a business meeting to discuss marketing strategies... By the time we reached the entrance of the Dargah, we noticed that nothing had changed between us. We were still in love with each other, but it was a new start again for a great future.
I don't know whether we will again come together or not. But it was clear that, no one of us had move on. Also no one is ready to make a first move. Yet she initiated and called me."
He smiled at me while saying this.
"We sat on the stones near the Dargah, she gave me the chocolate, we shared it and ended up our short and sweet meet looking at the beautiful sunset. It was the most beautiful evening of my life......"

By saying this, Naren ended up our conversation with a heavy heart, eyes filled with tears and mind in a dual state of mind.... Happiness and Hollowness together at a time......
